The Data Charrette has weekly meetups or meetings, which are scheduled at meetup.com/data-charrette. There are both the regular, in-person meetups that meet on the second Wednesday of each month, and the additional opportunities to make online contributions the rest of the month. Regardless of format, all of the meetups are designed to help all of the participants develop their abilities to serve through data science and analytics. Please visit the meetup page for more information.
The Biannual Data Charrettes
Finally, the focal events of the Data Charrettes calendar are – of course – the Data Charrettes themselves, or the two-day, nonprofit service events that happen in the fall and the spring of each year. We will use the weekly meetups – both online and in-person – to help plan these events and to help prepare the volunteers and the nonprofit members.
The fall 2018 Data Charrette is scheduled for Friday, November 9, and Saturday, November 10. We will also have some preliminary sessions to make a first pass at cleaning and preparing the data. In the meetup group we are currently discussion some possible nonprofit organizations that we could partner with.
The spring 2019 event is tentatively scheduled for Friday, April 12, and Saturday, April 13, although that date is subject to revision.
Both events are being planned for Salt Lake City, Utah, although there may be additional events in other locations in the future.
